Lady Trojans fall in Group AA title game

Saturday, June 7, 2008 4:46 PM EDT

Tunstall's bid for a state softball championship came up short Saturday afternoon as the Lady Trojans dropped a 4-0 decision to Broad Run.

It was Broad Run's second straight Group AA title.

Playing at Radford University, Broad Run scored two runs in the first and one in the second to jump on top early. The Spartans added another run in the seventh for the final margin.

Meanwhile, Broad Run pitcher Caitlyn Delahaba was dominating. She surrendered only one hit and struck out 16.

Tunstall had beaten Poquoson 2-0 Friday to reach the state championship game.
