Hurt Volunteer Fire Department and Altavista Emergency Medical Services were on the scene for a two-vehicle collision in Motley Thursday afternoon.

According to Trooper D.S. Martin of the Virginia State Police, Phillip Andrew Droog, 34, Gretna, was driving a Sonny Merryman delivery truck south on Marina Drive when he veered into the northbound lane, meeting Natalie Barley Anderson's vehicle.

"He was on her side of the road when he rounded the curve," Martin said at the scene. "She hit her brakes and locked up and he hit her and overturned."

Anderson, 31, was flown to Lynchburg General Hospital. Her injuries are unknown.

Droog was treated at the scene for a minor shoulder injury.

The accident is still under investigation.
