Perriello to open campaign office in Danville

Sunday, July 20, 2008 2:18 PM EDT

Tom Periello, the Democratic candidate for the 5th District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, will hold a grand opening of his Danville campaign office Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the former Atrium building at 310 Main Street.

Periello, who is challenging Republican Virgil Goode in the November election, is also conducting a month-long economic "revival" tour.

He will attend a small business lunch Monday from noon to 1 p.m. at Mary's Diner in Danville and meet with members of the Downtown Danville Association from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Bronx Boy Bagels.

On Tuesday, Periello will attend a Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce breakfast featuring Averett University's new president, Dr. Tiffany Franks, at Stratford Courtyard Conference Center.

Other stops include Columbia Forest Products' Chatham plant, Danville Rotary Club, Pittsylvania County Economic Development, and radio and newspaper interviews.
