Four suspects have been arrested for allegedly damaging various buildings in the Downtown Appomattox area and burglarizing a church.

The crimes took place on July 14, according to Appomattox Sheriff Wilson Staples, and involved Country Charm and the Visitor Center on Main Street, as well as Liberty Baptist Church on Church Street.

Four teenagers were arrested following an investigation of the Appomattox County Sheriff's Department.

Three of the teenagers were charged with intentionally destroying or defacing Country Charm and the Visitor Center, breaking-and-entering into Liberty Baptist Church, and petit larceny from the church.

Joey Arrighi, 18, of Appomattox, Jessica Crews, 19, of Appomattox, and Jeffrey S. Mayberry, 18, of Appomattox, were each arrested on the charges.

In addition, Jeremy Rogers, 18, of Gladstone was also charged with the burglary at Liberty Baptist Church.

Sheriff Staples said additional charges could be pending.

The four suspects allegedly broke a window at the Visitor Center and tossed a cinder block through a window at Country Charm.

Also, a flower pot was broken at Country Charm.

After breaking into the church, the suspects allegedly stole food from the Fellowship Hall kitchen.

The damage to the three buildings were less than $1,000, and the stolen items from the church were less than $200.
