Burning Law starts Feb. 15
The Commonwealth's 4 p.m. Burning Law goes into effect February 15, the start of spring fire season in Virginia. The Volens community suffered a terrible loss last Tuesday night when the historic Green Valley School building burned to the ground. The old wooden structure housed African-American students before Sydnor-Jennings Elementary School (within sight) was built in 1961.
