Neudorfer should be next District 2 Supervisor To the Editor: I have owned property for 20 years and lived in District 2 of Bedford County for the past nine years. I was embarrassed and mad when our last elected Supervisor proved to be corrupt. But it caused me to start going to some supervisor meetings, to see for myself how things were handled, especially after the board appointed Mr. Ayers to the district. I'm sure he's a good man, I hear that he was a great teacher to a lot of people over the years, and that he's a pretty good historian. That's fine. Time for a change, vote for Neudorfer To the Editor: Chuck Neudorfer is the right person to fill Bedford County's District 2 Supervisor's seat. Residents should expect AEP Lake maintenance To the Editor: For those whose logic, perhaps, missed the obvious: Emergency dock signs a success To the Editor: The Smith Mountain Lake Rotary Club would like to thank all of those who have participated with our Emergency Dock Sign program this year. The program has been an overwhelming success due to your interest in supporting our volunteer emergency services and making Smith Mountain Lake the best place in the country to live. Rental properties disrupt neighborhoods To the Editor: In reference to the article on "Bedford County considers complaints about lake rentals" in the Sept. 8 edition of The Roanoke Times. According to the zoning laws for R1 single family residential it defines family as "one or more persons occupying a single dwelling unit, provided that unless all members are related by blood, marriage, adoption or guardianship, or under appropriate foster care, no such family shall contain over 8 persons." Is Lake project condo or hotel? To the Editor: As a property owner and resident of Craddock Creek, I have been following all of the letters and have attended most of the Board of Supervisor's meetings on the subject in an attempt to be informed and understand the planning and progression of the Mariners Landing project. I must say that I am confused as to some of the information that is put forth. As an example; the number of boat slips - is it a marina or not, are the boat slips for rent or not, etc. It seems that a lot of my confusion stems from an underlying question. The question being - "Is it a condominium or a hotel?"
