MEET YOUR NEIGHBOR
Dan and Pamella Keaton were childhood sweethearts. They met at a junior high school party and married eight years later in 1972. Both Dan and Pam were born and raised in southern West Virginia and attended Marshall University. Pam graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and Dan completed a degree in Secondary Education.

Corey-Brown Wedding
The wedding ceremony of Michelle Elizabeth Corey to Daniel Brown took place on June 26, 2004, at 6:30 in the evening on the garden terrace of The Waterfront Golf & Country Club in Moneta, Va. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Gary K. Scheidt. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in The Waterfront's ballroom.

Whitehead-Mellon Wedding
The marriage of Catherine Hope Whitehead to William Christian Beachler Mellon took place at 5 p.m. June 19, 2004 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Hilton Head Island, S.C. The Rev. Richard Lindsay officiated the double ring ceremony followed by Holy Communion. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lee Whitehead of Moneta, Va. and the groom is the son of Col. and Mrs. Harry Humphry Mellon of Hilton Head Island, S.C.

Calvin and Macklyn Woodford, of Moneta, celebrated 55 years of wedded bliss and Calvin's 80th birthday with family and friends throughout the community at the Bethlehem Methodist Church on Sunday, September 26. Calvin is the founder of Moneta Farm Service, which celebrated 30 years of continual service in 2003.

Saunders Fire Co. open house
In conjunction with Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 3-9) the Saunders Volunteer Fire company will host an Open House from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3. Their fire station is located on Smith Mountain Lake Parkway near White House Corner.

Mountain Dew cans commemorate Bedford County's 250th anniversary
Pepsi Bottling Corporation has begun distributing Mountain Dew cans commemorating Bedford County's 250th anniversary celebration. The drinks are being distributed and sold in the City of Bedford and Bedford County, Lynchburg, Roanoke and surrounding counties.
