Weekend events feature stews, pancake breakfast

The following events are scheduled this weekend:

Southside Soccer Club will have a stew sale Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Pepsi Bottling Group Plant on Riverside Drive in Danville.

Stew will be ready at lunchtime for $5 a quart.

Wilson Memorial Ruritan Club will hold a stew Saturday, Feb. 4, at Oak Level Volunteer Fire Department in Vernon Hill.

Stew will be ready at 9 a.m. for $5 a quart.

Sons of the American Legion Dan River Squadron 1097 will have a stew Feb. 4 at Post 1097 on Fairfield Avenue in Danville.

Stew will be $5 a quart and ready for pickup from noon until 3 p.m.

Dry Fork Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will hold a pancake breakfast Saturday, Feb. 4, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tickets are $5 for all you can eat.

Chatham Ruritan Club will hold a Brunswick stew Saturday, Feb. 4, at BB&T bank in Tightsqueeze Plaza. Stew can be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for $4.50 a quart. For more information, call Jimmy Scearce at 432-1599.

Dry Fork Ruritan Club will make stew Saturday, Feb. 4, at Mount Hermon Courtyard. Stew can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for $5 a quart. Email [email protected] or call 432-9689 to order.

Penhook United Methodist Church will hold a free community breakfast Saturday, Feb. 4, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Donations will be accepted for mission work, said Jennifer Marlowe.
