Surrounded by her family, Patsy Reynolds Rosser, age 80, of 3760 Lambs Church Road, was called home by her Lord and Savior Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Hospice Care, Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of Hugh William Rosser for 61 years.

She was born Feb. 14, 1931, in Pittsylvania County, a daughter of the late Silas C. Reynolds and Rebecca Low Reynolds.

She was a member of Kedron Baptist Church, a longtime employee of Allen-Morrison Sign Company in Lynchburg, secretary/treasurer of Highview Motors Inc. and a graduate of Virginia Commercial College in Lynchburg.

A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she loved her family deeply. She took care of her mother for many years in her home and cared for her almost daily for six years at Guggenheimer Nursing Home. As a member of Kedron Baptist Church, she was the church recording secretary and a Sunday school and Vacation Bible School teacher. She faithfully sent hundreds of cards over her lifetime to many in her church and community. She sent cards on a weekly basis. She loved to cook for her family, preparing wonderful meals and desserts, even when camping. Over the years, she helped her husband garden and care for their home and farm. She especially loved her kitty cats. She loved traveling with her husband and family, enjoying their motor home beach trips and their two trips to Hawaii.

She is survived by two sons, George H. Rosser of Lynch Station and Kyle S. Rosser and wife Tonya of Altavista; two daughters, Carolyn S. Cowart and husband Larry of Rustburg and Rebecca R. Thomas of Forest; two brothers, Shirley C. Reynolds and wife Martha of Powhatan and Vann Reynolds of Waynesboro; two granddaughters, Katharine Stevens and Meredith Stevens, both of Altavista; two stepgrandchildren, Larry Cowart Jr. of Rustburg and Michelle Williams and husband Steven of Gladys; and five great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Clifton, Addison, Leonard and Fenton Reynolds; and two sisters, Arie Reynolds and Della Reynolds.

A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Kedron Baptist Church by the Rev. Brian Reynolds. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

The family would like to especially thank Mrs. Rosser's caregiver, Audrey Toller; Dr. David Cannon and the staff of Medical Associates of Virginia; the Hospice staff at Virginia Baptist Hospital; and Amorette Lerner.

The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials consider Kedron Baptist Church, P.O. Box 38, Gladys, Va. 24554 or Friends of Lynchburg Hematology & Oncology, 1701 Thomson Drive, Suite 200, Lynchburg, Va. 24501.
