A 41-year-old Appomattox woman pleaded guilty to charges of assaulting three law enforcement officers and obstructing justice.

Circuit Court Judge Richard S. Blanton accepted Jodie Giuliano's plea.

She faces a mandatory minimum of six months for the three assault charges.

Her sentencing is set for March 13.

Giuliano's charges stem from incidents that occurred in Spring 2011.

On April 26, deputies James Davidson and Jonathan Garrett responded to a residence in Appomattox County.

"Once there she was acting in an unruly manner," Fleet said.

The officers used a taser twice to no effect. Eventually the officers got Giuliano under control.

Fleet said that Giuliano's son told the deputies that she was under the influence of crack cocaine.

Her attorney Pierre Jackson said that Giuliano suffers from bipolar and that she was going through a crisis the day of the accident.
