Employees and customers evacuated Walmart on Tuesday after a fire extinguisher fell on the floor in the back corner of the dairy section. Manager Denzil Van Swearingen said that someone inadvertently hit the extinguisher, causing it to hit the floor and discharge. The store was closed from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. while store officials waited for approval from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It was determined that the items in the dairy section were safe for sale.
